Donations are greatly appreciated to continue the maintenance and care of the museum building, collection, and to support special events held by the Museum.

Any monetary donations donated to us are greatly appreciated! Your donation will fund the maintenance of our historic building, maintenance of our collection, and funding for special events held by the Museum.

Any donations of items to our collection is greatly appreciated! Our museum would not have the collection it does without generous donations like yours.

We are currently accepting donations of items relevant to Wakefield and its history, including…

  • Photographs and photo albums

  • Letters and postcards

  • Artwork and handmade items

  • Personal items with special significance, such as wedding dresses, keepsakes,

    diaries, fine jewelry, and music instruments

  • Military memorabilia

  • Business “tokens,” promotional items, or souvenirs

  • Tools, equipment, and memorabilia from Mining, Logging, Farming, and other industries

  • Tools, equipment, and memorabilia from outdoor recreation such as skiing, hunting,

    snowshoeing, fishing, etc.

  • Other antiques or items relating to Wakefield or the Gogebic Range

Are you interested in donating an item, but you’re no longer in Wakefield? Email our Museum & Collections Coordinator at collections@wakefieldhistoricalsociety.org to discuss the donation and shipping your donation to our Museum!

Any items you’re interested in donating must be brought to the museum during hours of operation, where one of our Docents will check over the item and give you a donation form to fill out. By donating items to our Museum, donors recognize that they relinquish all rights to the outlined donation and will allow the Wakefield Historical Society & Museum to use it as it deems best.
